Facebook posting likely contributed to Great Falls burglary

A Great Falls family returned from vacation to find their house burglarized, likely the result of posting their travel plans to Facebook.

KXLH in Great Falls reports that the Larson family posted details of their tip to Facebook, including the day they planned to leave and how long they’d be gone.

From the story:

“The Larsons believe that whoever broke into their home knew their way around and seemed to know they had time to look around.”

A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered through Crimestoppers for any information leading to the arrest of the thief or thieves. The Larsons are offering a private reward as well. Information can be called in to 406-727-TIPS.

And, by the way people, be careful what you post on the Internet, no matter how private you think site is. Everything on the Internet can be public.
