Boston Globe: Cooks Source likely to go out of business

Remember that big deal story from a couple weeks ago, the Cooks Source scandal? I doubt it. The swarm of Internet critics has moved on, having gnawed the plagiarizing magazine’s bones clean.

Still, there’s been a development. The Boston Globe reports that a message posted to the magazine’s website says they’re likely to go out of business because of the scandal.

From the Globe story:

“The bad news is that this is probably the final straw for Cooks Source,’’ said an unsigned note posted on Cooks Source’s website and presumably written by the magazine’s editor, Judith Griggs, before the site went down yesterday. “We have never been a great money-maker even with all the good we do for businesses. Having a black mark wont help . . . and now, our black mark will become our shroud. . . . This will end us.’’

The Globe could not reach editor Griggs or plagiarism victim Monica Gaudio for comment.
