In honor of Veterans Day, Dahl Funeral Chapel in Bozeman will sponsor a broadcast the memorial services being held today at Sunset Hills Cemetery online. The service begins at 11 a.m., and the video will be available at noon. You can find it online here.
Later in the day, Dahl is also sponsoring a webcast of the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new American Legion building in downtown Bozeman. The ceremony is at 3:30 p.m., and the video will be ready an hour later here.
The webcasts are being done through a California-based company called Event By Wire. For a fee, the company provides funeral homes with the camera, wireless microphone, computer and software needed to stream funerals and other memorial events online.
Mark Peterson at Dahl said the American Legion asked them to come broadcast the event. The company regularly webcasts funerals and also broadcast the Memorial Day service at Sunset Hills this year, Peterson said. He hopes Dahl will get to broadcast more of these community events online in the future.
