This little gadget, the U-Socket, was previewed at this year’s MacWorld, and I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. I mean, why didn’t somebody think of this a couple years ago, when USB devices like iPods started getting really popular, and how long will it be until outlets like this are standard?
They’re going to cost about $20 apiece. Granted, that’s quite a bit more expensive than your generic power outlets, but you can’t charge your iPad from those generic outlets, can you?
Delivery of the U-Sockets will be delayed a bit, pending some changes suggested by Underwriters Laboratory, TUAW reports.
Anyhow, I think I want to replace, oh, all of my outlets with these.
